Mahana Gardens is a family-owned and operated farm on the west end of Molokai, run by Alex and Dayanti Rice, with a little help from their young daughters.

We grow lettuce, cucumber, and other vegetables in greenhouse hydroponic systems, allowing for multiple crops planted strategically for continuous harvest. By growing in greenhouses and choosing specific non-GMO varieties, we are able to avoid most pest issues. Our fruit trees include mature mangoes and guava trees, pruned strategically for optimal harvest and tree health, and sell root-grafted fruit trees, including many citrus varieties, at our nursery.
Alex has a diploma in horticulture and brings over a decade of professional experience in numerous sectors of the gardening and agriculture industry to our acreage. Dayanti brings a passion for community projects cultivated through nearly 20 years journalism experience. We look forward to evolving our farm to improve the health of the land and its people.
